Lone Oak Fire Department

Lone Oak Fire Department

Welcome to the Lone Oak Fire Department homepage.  As one of the first fire departments in the area, the Lone Oak Fire Department has been serving the surrounding community since 1949.  The Lone Oak Fire Department provides responses to fires, motor vehicle accidents, medical assists, and other emergencies.  We also provide mutual aid to other fire departments in the area.  We respond from three fire stations.  The main fire station (Station 1) is located on 111 Cave Thomas Drive.  Station 2 is located at the intersection of Lovelaceville Road and Mayfield Metropolis Road and our newest Station 3 is located on 6201 Highway 45 South near St. Johns.

We are Volunteers

The Lone Oak Fire Department is an all volunteer effort.  We have dedicated volunteers from all walks of life united together in a common goal to save life and property.  Currently we have over thirty five members but are always looking for more.  We are especially looking for people who live close to and can respond to Station 2 and Station 3.  Please contact Larry Freeman or Dave Wright if you wish to join the Lone Oak Fire Department Team.

Firefighter's Prayer PDF Print E-mail

When I'm called to duty God
wherever flames may rage
give me strength to save a life
whatever be its age
Help me to embrace a little child
before it is too late
or save an older person from
the horror of that fate
Enable me to be alert
to hear the weakest shout
and quickly and efficiently
to put the fire out
I want to fill my calling and
to give the best in me
to guard my neighbor and
protect his property
And if according to your will
I have to lose my life
bless with your protecting hand
my children and my wife.

The Lone Oak Fire Department Conducts training on Thursdays.

The First and Third Thursdays is general Firefighter Training. The Second Thursday is geared towards officers. The Fourth Thursday is EMS /EMT Refresher training. The training sessions start at 6 PM and usually last 3 hours. Training is usually conducted at Station 3.

We have state of the art training facilities including a burn tower, classroom facilities, a complete home maze/smoke room and four-story training tower.

This training is open to all firefighters and members of other departments and to the public in general. We especially welcome the opportunity to train with our mutual aid and other fire departments. The general training sessions cover various topics and there are multiple classroom and hands on sessions occurring simultaneously, so you can pick and choose the training you wish to attend.

Some of the training sessions (such as live burn) may have a limit on the number of students, so please contact Dave Wright, Larry Freeman or Charlie Blackston prior to the training session.

All our training is normally posted on the training calendar on this website, however, it is presently unavailable.  For Lone Oak training schedule, you can go to www.mccrackenfire.org.
